Planting History

Restorative planting along the Miami River in Harrison Hot Springs goes back to 2007 when the riparian  area along Spring Park was planted with compensation funds held by The Fraser Valley Watershed Coalition. Since then over 4000 native plants have been added, funded through grants and installed with labour from  citizen volunteers, Miami River Streamkeepers, with assistance from Village of Harrison Hot Springs  staff. Fraser Valley environmental groups -Watersheds Coalition and Invasive Species Society provided both expertise and labour .
